Chipper Chipper question

hey folks,
I have been looking around for a chipper and thinking about it..
I checked out craigslist and found one for $1400.
It is a farm all.
Does anyone have any experience with it?

From other research, it looks like a new Jinma can be had for about $1600.

so given those choices, what's the best deal?

I am totally happy with my Jinma. HOWEVER, I have many hours of tweeking in on it. I enjoy the tinkering as much as the chipping. If you are ready to go through it and get all the bugs out and then service it regularly, it will amaze you with what it can do.

what kind of adjustments can you make?
what kind of maintenance is required?

There are endless posts on this site about the things needed. Do a search for Jinma and chippers etc. There is one with multiple pictures. Basically they just need everything lined up, tightened up, checked for clearances. Then you check all those things on a regular schedule and keep it greased. These are not commercial grade machines but more that good for home and farm use.

I agree,
We sell the ORIGINAL Jinma PTO Chipper and sell 99% of them serviced and prepped. Our take is that we assume nothing and make sure it is capable of working when the end user gets it home. We think the weakest link are the belts after it has had a GOOD prep. Replacement parts should not be a problem IF it is a ORIGINAL Jinma chipper. Some of the parts will interchange with the clones.
