china zerks ?

As some of you will know, I had a HF finish mower shipped to me a short time ago. It has a bunch of zerks, that my grease gun just wont fit over. The grease gun works on the japan zerks on my 186d and everything around here just fine. Do I have to replace them? And if I do, maybe retap all of the threaded fittings that they go into, or just get a new end on my grease gun?

I am of no help on the "China" zerk sizes/threading. However, you can buy self-tapping zerks if you don't want to retap yourself.

That is very interesting. I know mine has some China zerks on it and my grease gun works. If you have a Harbor Freight close by they are about the cheapest on fittings. I have used them with success. They also have a swivel connector for $3.99. Search results for: 'grease gun connector fitting' http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?category=&q=grease+fitting

Sounds just like the factory zerks that come on the China mfd chippers we import and sell.

We replace all the factory zerks prior to selling just for that reason. You should be able to replace them with metric threaded zerks.

I had some zerks on my Kama tractor that the gun would not fit on. I bought thte metric zerk kit from HF and replaced the oversized ones. They work graet.
