Time for an update....
Took the truck to my local mechanic. He was confident that bad intake gasket was the problem, said he replaces them all of the time in the 80K - 100K+ range. (I have 83K).
He replaced the intake and it was good for a couple of days. Then came on again, 0171 and 0174. Comes on at idle, usually sitting at a light.
Talked to the mechanic again, said; "do you have a K & N?"
Yeah
Take it out, put in stock, and clean the MAF.
Did that and was good for about 2 days again.
I may try cleaning the MAF again. If that doesn't work, I may try to exchange the MAF and see what happens. Unfortunately, I turned in the old core about two days before it started acting up.

Sounds like an over oiled K&N took out the MAF. A couple of cleanings may help but you might have to just replace it.

On a side note, RAM's run a speed density system so no MAF. ;-)
