Little Help Please! I have a Grand L3540hst with LA724 Loader with Quick Attachand a BH80X woods BH with subframe. What is the cheapest way to control a grapple? My dealer's service man said I have power beyond because my BH runs off of the tractors hydraulics. I know I can get a simple selector valve (one way opens it, one way closes it and sping to nuetral open) locally for about $115.00. I would rather be able to spend a little more money on a quick attach grapple, probably a steel-tech 60", they are located close to me and I would save on shipping. I really need to know where the power beyond is located or where I would tap into? Heck any information you could provide Grand L specific would be great:):):)

I've been reading and researching and I'm frustrated.

P.S. I know I could get an Elect over Hyd W.R Long for 571.00 plus shipping.

Thank You

I always want cheap myself, but have a question re: remote for bh. I have a L3240 and am considering adding a bh, which would demand a rear remote. Where is yours attached, or do you have a pump? I am looking at a land pride hoe that has been on the dealer's lot for at least 3 years.

My backhoe is run off of the tractors hydraulics not a PTO pump. I'm not sure if it is considered a rear remote, but now that I think about it I believe it would be considered a rear remote. I'm sure some of the more seasoned ;)members could answer that question for sure.

Not real familar with landpride hoes.

The WR Long kit uses the Power Beyond port on the loader valve to add the true 3rd function. They also sell a bulkhead kit which connects to their valve and mounts near the front of the FEL arms on the cross brace with a male and female hydraulic coupling. I had that setup on my previous tractor a B3030. Very well built and nice setup if you want to run a grapple or 4in1.

Is the power beyond located under where the loader control is located?

Your 'power beyond' is essentially an outlet from your loader valve and a set of hoses that run to outlets at the rear of your trator.

All hydraulics are run in series (as opposed to parallel). Now hydraulic fluid is run from the pump through your loader valve, then to the rear of the tractor to power the hoe...... then back to the tractor to power the three point hitch (though not in use with the hoe on).

If you want a WR Long elec/hyd 3rd function, you will plumb it in between the loader and backhoe outlets.

There are other ways to run a grapple, such as a diverter, or off a rear remote. Grapples are the latest fashion statement with lots and lots of reading here if you use the search function.

Easily done....... you'll run a hydraulic hose from the power beyond port on your loader valve to the rear of the tractor where you'll have a couple quick disconnects. The pressurized fluid will run through the hoe, then back to the hydraulic block where the power beyond line used to connect.

When I did mine it was somewhere around $160 +/- in hydraulic hoses and fittings.

Thanks ductape! I'm leaning towards installing a factory rear remote and just running 2 lines up to the grapple next to the loader lines. There are slots in the plastic right behind my 3 pt hitch control just waiting to get filled with one of the valves they offer. Someday I might run into a good price on a snowblower or log splitter and the remote will be there.

I'm going to try and search for some rear remote installations with pictures to hopefully convince myself that I can install it myself.
