Cheap, Lightweight Cab

I got one of those snowblower cabs for $10 at a tag sale several years ago, it never got mounted on to my 1964 Gilson Snowblower. But I did find a creative use for it on 2 of my compact tractor's. First the frame's overall height was shortened using S.S. hose clamps I had on-hand, (so I could clear garage door). Then it was backwards mounted, onto the seat spring on my 1971 Enconomy 2414, when I was using it to plow snow. Kept my upper body protected from the elements & wind. Now that the Economy is retired (for now), I mounted the same shorten frame onto my Pasquali 993.
It provides about the same amount of protection, lower extremites (upper thigh & legs) were exposed before too. But it's better than nothing!:thumbsup:

Refering to the tractor or the cab? I do get some strange-looks from folks that drive by, they have never seen a small-tractor like that before.

Yup, I sure am. Got 6' blade mounted on 3pt, Cozy-cab on, now just need SNOW!!!

Pretty cool setup, but I'd be gasping for air. (claustrophobic lol) Love the Terra tires!

If you are facing into the wind, and it's blowing hard. The cab fills up like a parachute, the loose fitting bottom skirts blow-out like a pressure relief valve, which can cause issues with the lift-arms. Ripped some new clearance slots, in the skirt the other day when picking-up grader blade to max height. Fabric got caught on something, and wha-la new ventalation holes!

Ok, learned some stuff with having my "cozy-cab" on while trying plow 10" of heavy-wet snow, in the rain & darkness of this morning. Can't see squat, need a wiper option! Other than not being able to see while backing-up (even with a back-up light), it kept my torso dry. Would have rather had 18" of puffy-snow, than the wet-stuff, but that's life in New England; wait 10min & the weather will change.

go to the junk yard and get a wiper set up off a rear gate of a mini van or suv the cheapest option i know of i hope this helps

That is a good idea & cheap option! Hadn't thought of that. Was thinking of having my canvas buddy sew-in a reinforced window opening, that rolls up & is held with snaps or velcro. Simular to a "dodger" on a boat, simple & costs a 12 pack!
