I bought my Rough Rider > than a decade ago with both cyls
and sights (Williams Fire front, Millett adj rear). One day when breaking out for a shoot I emptied the .22 LR cyl of its CB Longs before demonstrating how easy the cyl swap is. Didn't adjust my earplugs for the first Mag shot and ... yeah, my ears rang for 20 minutes or more.

It likes CCI Mini-Mag HPs, so I'm set for hunting with it.
My 10/22 has been abandoned for a 77/22H for most yard work, but SS Taurus 9-shot DA or the Marlin 995 (775 pkg w/scope) go in the boats 'cuz if they go overboard they are easier to find and to clean up if not recovered withing 24 ... minutes. (have dropped the revo from the canoe a few times when running my trap line from the canoe :laughing
I've had enough .22 LR experience with Ruger, Mossy, Marlin, and Savage to recommend the Plinkster as the best of the lo buck .22 LR guns. It seems less ammo fussy than the Marlins and Sav 64s, is more accurate IME. (btw, Sav mags are not cheap, Marlins are)
A 10/22 is gonna cost too much by the time the trigger & barrel are swapped-out for Volquartsen bits, the stock is replaced with a laminated blue Boyd's Barracuda, and the laser designator, silencer, shoe buffer, metal detector, and vacuum-bagger are attached.
