My SR80 is relatively quiet except for the creaking. Has anyone every investigated the source of this phenomenon?

When does the creaking happen? Keep greasing stuff till it quits.:D

It would be nice if their were grease fittings for that. It creaks when driving and doesn't seem to be related to any bucket action where the grease fittings are found.

I would say you may have two pieces of metal bolted together and one bolt is not real tight or you could have a crack somewhere that is flexing and making that creaking sound or just something rubbing on another part, It's gonna be hard to find

What about spraying the tracks with diesel (on the inside where they contact the rollers). See if it quietens down or goes away. May have to block it up so tracks will turn free and you can walk around machine and listen as they turn. Does it make the same sound forward/reverse, when turning, etc.? Be careful and good luck.

Tonight I will lift up the ROP and check under the hood for loose bolts and cracks. The tracks are quiet. It is only when the chassis is rocking and rolling that the creaking starts. I've never operated machinery with a full enclosure so I also need to consider that the sounds are business as usual.

On my RC30, the creaking comes from the drive rollers on the drive sprocket, kinds irritating, but not much you can do about it. One note, how many hours do you have on the new machine, now? The track tension on the RC30, when the tracks get loose, makes the squeeks and creaking a lot worse. I don't know if the SR80 has a similar adjustment, or if its automatic, but check your manual, and your track tension, in that order.

3 days ago, I had a rattle but no squeaks. The rattle was the left side fuel tank, I pushed on it and it moved. I had shared all 4 bolts off and the tank was hanging on by the fuel tank connector. The upper fuel vent had been bent and almost pulled out of the threads. To get to all this I had to remove the muffler, the bracket had broken in two paces. To get the muffler out I had to remove the AC pump and alternator. One of the bolts for the alternator was broken too. So..

Today I drilled and extracted the bolts from the tank, rethreaded the vent hole, put in a new vent elbow thingy, welded the muffler mounting bracket back on the muffler and of course this made it near impossible to get back in, got a new bolt for the alternator...and I'm ready to go...but I can't help with that squeak.

On level ground there is hardly any sound beyond the motor noise. Once it starts to rock and roll there is random creaking. Tonight I flipped open the cab, sprayed some silicone on the rubber and tightened some bolts. Maybe tomorrrow I can test it out. I have ASV tech support working on it. The first thing they want to check is whether I got the cab recall fixes installed.

I've adjusted my track, but the noise seems higher up then that.
