Tires Changing tire on 1050

Dumb question - but like most, not answered in the manual. How/where do you jack up the front end to take off a front wheel to repair or replace it? What's the best method you've found to do so?

Sorry no one has sent you a reply yet. I have always had the same thoughts on this. I have previiously owned a White, CC 3204 and now own a CC 5254.

The method I use is to use a floor jack and lift from the center of the axle while placing a board between the jack lift and the metal on the tractor.

Words of caution for anyone new to working with equipment.

Block the tractor wheels. Be sure to avoid any zerk fitting. Once lifted - place supports under the tractor in case the jack slips.

I jacked my CC2042 from the center of the axle as well. Where in central Va? I am in Mechanicsville.

Like the others said.... under the front axle would be fine. You could lift on just the side of the tire that needs attention instead of the whole front end.

Be careful where you put the jack saddle on the front axle of the 2042+. There is a gease zirk smack dab in the center to grease the axle pivot (bottom center). A big chunk of wood with a knotch or hole would protect that area.

Remember that you can buy a tube for that tire that will work just fine - new rubber can be expensive while a tube is cheap.
