98 John Deere 1070. approx 900 hours. What kind of interval should I be changing the hydraulic fluid? I want to change the filter for sure, but as the transmission and hydraulic is one system, I wonder if it's time to change the fluid.

All the machines I have owned showed 1000 hours in the manuals. I think it depends on type of use also.

I think I should just buck up and do it.

I just did mine this last weekend but for a different reason. I found out that the last time I changed it I used the wrong fluid. I noticed that my hydraulics were acting funny. Re-read the label and yes it was for use in colder weather and in essence at operating temperature would turn to the consistency of water.
