Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has any input to help me out. I have a M108s with a la1403 loader. It came with the booms in the height position. I'd like to move them down to the power position. I know what needs to be done (pull out the pin and lower the boom), however, I've never done this.

Has anyone done this before? How heavy are the booms when you release them? Do I need some sort of support? Is this a one man job or not?

Thanks for the time. I appreciate it.

On my m7040, it is the end point of the lift cylinder that is relocated to make the change you are considering. If yours is the same it is a job that is much easier with two people. One to move the loader valve a tiny bit as you try and push in the pin. Don't put your finger in the hole to see how things are lining up!!!. I have done the job my self but it is very frustrating. Just have the bucket on the ground. All you are lifting by hand is 1/2 of the lift cylinder weight.

Just a follow up on this. This was pretty easy on my l1403 loader which is pretty large. One man job. Pull the pins and lower down the boom.
