Changing Engine Oil

I have a 2024 TYM T394 Standard Shift with shuttle shift what make engine oil should I use and weight. It could get below zero degrees F in the winter. Has anyone ever used the filter kits on Amazon and are they doing a good job? Did you have any problems with it? It has a Yanmar engine, model #3TNV88C-DKTF. If anyone knows the brand and number of the oil filter for my tractor, please advise.

Look in your owners manual for the oil specs. I wouldn’t use any cheap, no name filters from china.

The smaller 3TNM74F in my 2024 T224 actually recommends 5w30 or 10w30 engine oil for the widest range of temperatures per the oil range chart in the manual, but even 15w40 is good down to ~ -7degF, which it rarely gets to in my area anyway.

Most owners seem to use 15w40, Delvac or Rotella. I am going to do the first engine oil change on mine at around 10hrs. I plan on using a diesel rated 10w30 and a Champ PH2876XL filter as I have these filters on hand for 2 Nissans I take care of. They are the same size and thread base to the OEM.

Do you happen to know what the filter brand and number are for my 2024 T394? I will use Rotella

Funny thing about manuals, that I've found, is that they do not like to give up the parts number for the oil filter. I have an LS MT242 and the LS brand filter is $30.00 for one filter.

I found a couple of Yanmar filters that are compatible (I think) and some other cross references of more readily available off the shelf brands, but have been trying to verify if any of these actually work or not from experienced owners. So far, not a word.

I looked through the other similar thread and it's fairly old, and it appears to have large gaps between times & posts (one page jumps from 2021 to 2025 iirc). I'm certain it is very usable once a person finds the right info for their particular tractor, engine &c then it's pretty much set in...
