Well winter time is here again along with the threat of being snow bound in the house after repeated blizzards. Reminds me of the vivid memories installing and removing the five sets of chains used on my 379 Peterbuilt on every snow covered mountain pass within the western 11 states. Chain up, chain down, chain up, chain down. Nowadays, all I have to do is install the chains on my 4300 John Deere come fall and I don't touch them till springtime when I finally remove them. Only very rare adjustments are necessary once they are on and in the meantime, I get to push and shove, push and shove all the snow away or at least out of the way without any problems. And Yes, I do reverse the rims to the outer position......couldn'
t install chains any other way. Next year, a new snow blower and R-1 tires..........no more chains to deal with!

Thanks SHAWK Your absolutely right.........we can hear the coyote pups howling every spring and then in the fall especially when they gang up, tackle and down a little fawn......not a very pleasant sight or sound! 1100 hours and still ticking, my 4300 has been relatively maintenance free other than the regular oil and fluid changes. Another reason to go back to Deere the next time around!

We get them here too. Seems like the last couple of years more so. The wolves get them once and awhile but they don't seem to have any other natural enemies.

Some of the farmers 'pop' em now and then. I saw one limp across my front field a couple of years ago.

We have Llamas to protect the other animals. One Llama can protect 2000 sheep. Llamas are tough. They are so muscular you can't get a needle into them.
