Chain saw curving while cutting question

/ Chain saw curving while cutting question #31
:confused2: This makes nonsense. ... Did you ever flip the bar? Does the chain have a lot more cutting teeth on one side than the other? Are any of the cutting teeth bent outward from the normal line of travel? :confused3:Its possible the "grabbing" could have bent it.

You may have hit upon something here Spyder. It could be that more of one side cutter than the other may have been placed in this chains construction in successive links. I also agree LD that the bar overheating is a symptom if indeed all other causes of an over heating bar have been eliminated. I have gotten chains that have had as many as 3 to 4 cutters facing the same direction and placed in a row. Very rare since todays chains are robotically assembled but glitches happen. Could also explain why the chain is grabbing and certainly curving .
