Tiller ccm vs. first choice tillers

anyone have experience with these whats the difference i'm looking at the 60" tiller just wondering which would be the best choice thanks ahead for posting /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Both are good tillers. As the proprietor of CCM equipment, I feel its my place to answer you with the CCM specifications.
All CCM tillers are gear driven the First Choice RT04-60 is chain driven.
MR160 has a 60 HP drive transmission rating the FC RT04-60 has a 35 HP rating
MR160 tiller weight 550 LBS the FC RT04-60 = 448 LBS
MR160 tiller has a 2 position vertical hitch blocks with horizontal adjustment the FC RT04-60 does not have this feature.
Both have adjustable skid shoes
Both have #4 PTO with clutch

Who manufactures CCM tillers?

What determines the minimum HP for a tiller? You have two tillers: the MR-190 & the SR-185, both are effectively 72" wide. The MR has 54 tines while the SR has 42 tines, but the MR requires only 25hp while the SR requires 45hp. I know this sounds like an individual sales question, but I figure if I'm wondering this, then other folks at TBN may also have the same question.

Fair question. The SR series tillers have a 22" scroll diameter which means the SR tillers have the capacity to till 2.5" deeper than the MR Series tillers with a 17" scroll diameter. Since the SR tillers are going deeper into the soil they require a larger and thicker tiller blade and require more HP. If you check the weight there is over 300 Lbs difference between the MR190 and the SR185. Everything about the SR is designed to be used on larger HP tractors. The MR series tillers are designed to be used on utility and compact tractors. The SR are designed to be used on larger utility tractors. The larger blades have a different spacing. This accounts for less blades. The CCM tillers are manufactured for the US market with some slight changes from the European models. The manufacturer has been selling tillers in Europe for over 20 years. Hope this clears up some questions.
