Cat 0 Implements?

Here are my 2 cents ...

Landscaping
Rear Blade
Box Blade
Landscape Rake

Mowing
Rotary Cutter (rough cut)
Flail Mower

Tillage
Tiller
Springtooth/Cultivator
Disc
Drag
Pine Straw Rake

Other
Trailer Mover (Receiver Hitch)
Forks

If it is something you want to be able to ship, maybe you make a toolbar that you can hang some of these things off of.

The type of tractor 3PH Category that you would be most interested are the ones listed as "Cat 1 (Limited)"... These are the small SCUTs that will take a Cat 1 implement but there is a LOT of fiddling to get them mounted/removed on the 3PH as the implements are just too high without a fair bit of buggering-about. Some owners resort to a ramp IOT raise the back-end of their tractors up to put them on/off.

Buy QH.... By "new" implement, make mods (if necessary) to fit QH... Be happy forever....

Where would I buy a Cat 0 QH?

I don't remember seeing a Cat 0 QH for sale.

I think DL Meisen is suggesting that a person with a Category 0 Tractor buy a Category 1 Quick Hitch and make modifications to it so it connects to their category 0 lift arms.

Maybe well designed version of that would be a product idea for the OP.

Otherwise, I do think there is a market for Category 0 implements, just like there is for Sleeve Hitch implements. Those owners just want size matched implements that hook up and don't want to make mods.

I owned a J.D. 318 equipped with a CAt. "0" 3Pt hitch. It was great for our large garden plot and preparing lawns for new seeding after spreading top soil. Disk harrows and cultivators were my two implements that saw the most use, along with drag harrows. The single bottom moldboard plow was useless. Not enough tractor weight for traction even with weights and Ag bar tires.

I think a quick hitch for any tractor utilizing Cat. "0" implements would be a waist of money. Cat. "0" implements are small enough and light enough to be jostled around by hand with very little effort or a piece of 2"x 4" if preferred.

I wouldn't even consider converting Cat. 1 implements to Cat "0". Implement weight and size and not enough ground clearance when in the raised position could quickly become an issue.

Edited to correct spelling error.

A trailer mover would be handy - need to make sure it has a reg. receiver style hitch so people can switch from a small ball, to a 2", to a flat "garden trailer" pull bar. For as small as the Cat 0 stuff is it wouldn't need to be very heavy duty so it should also be easily shippable.

A small dethatcher could also be added to the trailer mover receiver so it would be a multi use device (think dethatcher that slips into the receiver hitch on the trailer mover). I made one for out little BX and it works great for the yard around the house. Could really make several of the small drag implements that all fit the trailer mover frame. Would reduce the cost and people could just change them as needed.

What DL Meisen was saying is decide on what size quick hitch you want and make/modify all you implements/attachments fit that CAT "X" hitch once and never fool with any odd ball sizes and what wierd configurations ever again.....
