How do we get the hydralics to stop leaking out the breather hole?

What hyd, and what breather hole.

Maybe pictures and complete description.

Are you talking about the hyd tank filler opening?

Just a wild guess from your info, overfilled or tank to small.

The breather is to the right of the steering column and has a small cap with a mess interior. Someone says I may have overfilled it but the reservior is the tube that is the main frame of the tractor right under the breather so I have checked the filler hole and that shows it is ok. The pump at the front of the engine does not leak nor does it leak around the cylinder at the back under the seat or the rocker arms. Thanks for your interest I have lost my maintance book that I bought when I lent it to a fellow who was working on the tractor for me and he died and no one could find it! I have no technology for pictures.
