I have ordered a JX75 but have reservations about a dry clutch. Any advice about whether it would be desireable to change choices to a wet clutch would be appreciated. The cost would be $2 - 3000. more but might be worth it. Yes? No?

I'm interested in any responses to this question. Since there are none, I'll throw in my two cents.. I think the use of the tractor will help determine the clutch need. If it is in a severe service such as loader work with lots of direction changes, lots of start/stops, etc, maybe the wet clutch would be justified. Just remember it'll cost more to replace when it does go out. My opinion is that for mowing, plowing, and other uses that don't require constant clutching a dry clutch is fine as long as it isn't ridden and kept adjusted.

If you are going to spend that much more for a wet clutch, why not just get the JX1075C or its equivalent, the TN75 from NH with the power shuttle?

Thanks Froggy, I'll check that out. What's your opinion on the question about wet clutches being much better than dry?

If you look at the Case constructions TBLs you will see that they come with both types. If it can last in one of these machines, I don't believe that it is an issue. Also there are a lot CUTs and AG tractors that use loaders and do not have wet clutches. As long as you are not riding the clutch, it shouldn't be a problem.

Personally I think it's a nice thing to have and if you have the money to spend on it, why not?
