Case DX45 Burning oil

Hey everyone, hoping someone can lend some help. I have a 2007 Case Farmall DX45 with the Shibaura N844L four cylinder diesel. Tractor has about 1200hrs on it, and has started burning oil. It uses about a quart every 4hrs under normal use. Seems to only happen under load and when hot. No noticable puffs of smoke when cold or starting. Power seems to have dropped some too. When it had a load, it puffs a little smoke and power drops a little. Haven't done a compression test yet, but maybe cracked head or rings?? Just wondering if anyone has run into this issue?
