Case 580b head removal

I知 trying to replace the head gasket in my case 580b with the 188 Diesel engine but I can稚 get the head off. I believe I have taken out all the bolts, even the one behind the water pump. Please help!

It looks like the front water coolant housing has bolts into the front face of the head. did you get those out? These heads can be heavy, so make sure it's not just the weight holding it on.

Go to the Messick's website. They usually have the parts breakdowns there to help show you where parts go. And I would get a manual. They are always worth the money.

I've never had the head off my 580B (yet), so no first hand knowledge... Steve

All the water pump bolts and are out. The one is still sitting in there but it doesn’t go into the head. I have looked at shop manuals and parts break down. Every bolt that is any where near the head that I can find is out. I have tried to pry it up with a six foot bar and it doesn’t even budge. You would swear I never even took a boot out

Plug the injector holes so you get compression and crank it?

& once u get it off DO NOT set it flat on a table.!!
The injectors are sticking out "just a little" past the head surface & will smash if u lay it down flat.!!

I finally got it off using a couple pry bars on either side of the engine in the ports. I got the injectors out and headed to the machine shop now. Ty all for the help!
