Does anyone have the governor settings for a 3 cylinder Case 380CK? The name tag on the pump doesn't include the 3rd line with the code.

Its a CAV pump model number DPA 3233F002 Serial number R25175YW

The serial number on the tractor is 885\41\11019371

1180 rpm.. if it were mine, I'd set the gov hi speed screw to 1200 & never look back..

BTW> Never Ever let the machine sit w/ the stop lever "pulled" to shut-off.. the metering valve will/can stick in the shut-off position & your in for a headache..
Just make it a habit to push it back in after shut down & shut the fuel off at the tank.. TELL YOUR FRIENDS..
IF EVERYONE did that, I'd be out of business.. LOL

Sorry I wasn't clear in the original post.

What I need to know is the correct position of the governor spring inside the pump cover. Which of the three holes on both pieces? I want to rule out the governor settings before I send the pump out to be rebuilt.

SPRING CODE "6".. Hope this helps.. The RPMS given earlier were pump rpms.. so the true engine rpms will be 2400..

I rebuild them.. probably at lot less than you'll find by calling around..

Finally got around to doing a compression check on this one, was a nice 72ー tonight.

All three cylinders showed 400-410 PSI.

Any advice as to what to try next? Time to send the pump and injectors off?

You never told us what your problem IS.. only asked about the spring code setting..
Is your pump pumping fuel UP TO the injectors??

The tractor stopped running while brush hogging and has not been able to start since. I replaced the pump cover gasket because it was leaking and just wanted to double check the spring setting. I've taken the valve cover off and watched the rockers, everything seems to be OK. Wondering if it's possible to have jumped timing?

I am getting fuel to the injectors. Thank you for the replies!

Hmm.. They can be a real sob to bleed.. have you loosened the bleed screw by the name plate,double screw.5/16??
It has an electric solenoid on it yes?? jump it straight off the battery w/ a wire..
Leave ALL THE LINES LOOSE AT the injectors & spin the engine until you get fuel & NO AIR & THEN tighten the lines..
I've never seen 1 jump time.. & if it did.. real loud, bad things would happen..
If your gonna pull the pump & injectors, I'd be happy to take a look at them for you..

I wonder if it's possible that air got into the system with the leaking pump cover and that's what made it stop running?

No solenoid. Has the rotary CAV pump with manual shut off. I primed the pump at that bleeder screw and the one on the cover with the hand pump. Fuel came out with no air after just a few pumps then moved on to the lines. Seemed like it was going to run after a few of the attempts but always sputters out.

Shows only 910 hours so I guess I'll empty the tank and fill it with new diesel and try bleeding again. I'll update again soon.

When you loosened the lines at the injectors, did you loosen them all at the same time.. spin the engine until fuel squirted out??
I've been getting quite a few pumps in w/ the same symptom.. running/working it & then it shut off..
They end up being Bio-fuel babies{gummed-up} & some are seized up..
A leaking top cover wont shut one down.
Is it pumping fuel out of the lines, going to the injectors??

Yes, pumping what seems to be plenty of fuel from all injector lines at the injectors. I'm going out tonight to drain the old fuel. Will try to get it bled again tomorrow before I give up.

Forgot to ask, Do I need to do anything with the lines at the top of the injectors?

Just make sure they're not leaking..
if you follow the line down from the injector rail, it goes back into the filter head..{most do}
any "leaks" will produce air, which gets into the filter, which inturn gets put into the pump inlet.. not good.
No luck getting it started huh..??
If you need someone to take a look at the pump & injectors, give me a shout..

Welp, haven't been able try again. I did find time to remove and drain the tank so that I'll be bleeding with a full tank of fresh fuel.

I'll definitely get in touch with you to have the pump and injectors gone through if it still refuses to start this next try. Wouldn't be surprised if everything is gummed up from sitting so long.

I should have time to get to it this next week. I have too many projects!
