Flail Mower Caroni Flail on B3030

Did you actually get a TM1600 or is it a TL? The TM has knives mounted via a clevis while the TL knives attach directly to the rotor.

What would be the advantage / disadvantage of either?

That's more or less my understanding too. Except I believe it will actually save the blades from getting trashed on rocks and not so much as protection for the rotor. I think blades that are attached with shackles make for a more robust flail. IMO. We must defer to the other more experienced experts on this thread to weigh in.

The clevis used with the TM provides a second pivot point and also allows the knives to move laterally when hitting an object. Also, the TM has far fewer but heavier knives. It would be hard to use those knives on a TL rotor.

I'd vote that if it's a pretty thorough review, start a new thread so others can find it easier, & since the TM1600 is not the common Caroni model flail mower normally discussed on TBN. Maybe under Attachments.

No firm rules but I agree it would be best to start an appropriately titled review in the attachments subforum. I look forward to it.

I have Agri Supply pricing a TM1600 for me since there's still time to get their order in before spring. Is anyone else interested in the TM1600? It might help as far as the price if they know they might be ordering more than one, since they don't stock them.
