Where do I begin.....
...I don't even know what the build date is. So we'll go with original purchase date. May 17th, 1971. Bought at Kinney's Farm Service, Washington Kentucky. (Found the cancelled check and bill of sale while ago) I guess we'll have to go with 40th anniversary.

I'm rambling on about my '71 Massey Ferguson 150. Perkins diesel, 8-speed trans. It spent a productive life on the farm for 34 years, and now the last 6 taking care of 45 acres, since the farm was sold.

5 years ago, I decided to find a replacement for the long lost steering wheel center cap. Ebay it was.... From that, a couple other minor details.....Then more.....Then paint, tires, yada yada yada..... I had but ONE rule. EVERY part used was an ORIGINAL part. No aftermarket.....No "replacement parts"....They HAD to be identical to original. I broke that rule with the muffler. (cut off Stanley so I can get it under a 7' garage door) I've got a rare original MF mufler in a box, put away. Also, tires.....Could find the GoodYears what were originally on it, so went with Titan (Who now OWNS GoodYear Ag tire div) Also, added a water bottle holder.....(So spank me......) And I like me some Optima batteries, so that ain't 'zacly O-riginal either.

It's still a "daily driver". I've got cab tractors, but choose to use an open station tractor about 90% of the time. (Hard to shake old habits..) The paint has a little wear, the new is scuffed off the tires, but otherwise, it looks like a 5 year old tractor.

Notice in picture #2, the pto gaurd They're kinda rare....Every 135, 150, 165, 175, and 180 had one, but in those days, they got tossed in a corner first chance you got. You won't find many 100 series with them. But I found a valid reason to continue being a hoarder!!!!!!!! Still had mine!

I've owned newer tractors, I've owned older. I've owned smaller tractors, I've owned bigger. I've owned green tractors, I've owned red, A couple orange, several blue, even a yellow one. There's 14 other tractors sitting here from time to time. Most have cabs, heat/ac, great sound systems, seats that darn near make you wanna go to sleep.....

But still.....This is my favorite.

The heart of any 135 or 150 diesel is the Perkins AD3-152. 3-cylinders of efficient power and extreme longevity. When the 150 diesel was initially tested at Univ. of Nebraska, the 150 was the most fuel efficient tractor tested to date.

This one got a little "tweak" way back around the winter of '73. 38pto hp became 47 pto hp. On the dyno about 3 years ago, still peaked at 46.

There was still enough influence from Harry Ferguson put into the DX Series (100 Series) Massey's so that the hitch is a model of what HArry had in mind as far as how a 3-point hitch SHOULD work. Smooth, reliable, and VERY accurate position control/draft control.

Gotta have a cup holder though...

Hardest part to find during re-hab? The rear flasher remote light socket. (3/4" round 2-prong plug) A lot of the 150's had the socket, but apparently no one bought the light that plugs into it.....None to be found anywhere.....I keep looking though. (20' cord with clamp on 4" round red flasher light)

And one MORE thing....Something you'll find to VERY rare in Kentucky right now due to a month of steady rain.....Germinated corn. Good to live on top of a hill sometimes!!!!

What a beauty! I bet that Perkins sounds good too.
I have never heard of the retractable red light, so I'm glad you showed a pic.
I'd be really proud of that tractor.

Nice. I am even more envious of the corn. Mine is still in the seed bag.

That's sweet corn. We had about a 2-day window to get the ground ready and planted. It rain (again) today.

We have not had a break in the weather here long enough to allow me to even walk into my garden. I have probably 3 more weeks to plant my corn, and the long range forecast shows little to be optimistic about. :(

I do have (170) 1015Y sweet onions in the ground. At least they are happy with the cool wet weather.

I've always admired your avatar, and it's great to see some more pictures of that great machine of yours!

I really like the cupholder idea! Not sure there's room for on one my 1010, but I'm gonna look.

Every since I was a youngin', I've had a knack for growing some incredible crops of broccoli. D-Day on the spring crop is as close to St Pats Day as possible. Planted March 15th... Shortly after, those "rains" we had.......They came free with a month of limited sun light. Time passed without developing a good plant. They're heading now, and look to mighty mediocre. Probably 1/10th the usual.

And for what it's worth, my onions are doing VERY well. Pulled an icicle radish while ago that would feed a small army. Weeds are healthy and growing too :(
