I think a standard edge has holes 12" on center. Also, instead of skid shoes, I sandwiched a piece of rubber between the plow and the cutting edge, so it hangs down a few inches. As soon as you drive forward, that flap will fold down and prevent the plow from digging into gravel or grass. It works excellent, although not as well on pavement as a normal edge. It is a nice option, as I have terrible luck using skid shoes. I have also heard of people slicing PVC pipe and sliding that over the edge, which should do the same thing.
