Arly, that is what sucks. There aren’t a lot of daylight hours in the winter. Last thing you want is to plow in the dark when you get there.

You get hammered where you are, and your cabin is way back off road access.

I know two guys who had places in the UP. They stopped going up often because it stopped being fun. But they were older guys too.

I'm not following why that #@,%=! We can't equipped a truck with a plow for 1600.. Consistent snow is why we moved to and reside here.

I had a cheap 1/2 ton plow truck with a cheap plow. Then got a 3/4 ton with the Western V plow. I have been able to get both stuck by not being careful. Just a pita when the tractor is here and I can get unstuck...different if away from home in the middle of nowhere...with no cell service.

Just my opinion, but for the amount of snow you get, you will want a V plow and a winch. Mount the winch to the rear receiver. Install dual batteries. Costs go up quickly

You are looking at $3000-4000 for a good used V plow. I sold mine this year for $3700. You will want a 3/4 ton truck. If you don't have one, add another $10,000 for a used one.

i understand you love snow. If the guy you have is doing a good job, $1600-2000 a year might be worth it to enjoy your cabin.

Also, if you take snow removal off the list of needs for your tractor, you might be better off with a smaller, more nimble and less expensive tractor for maintaining your wooded property and harvesting firewood.

Looking at the tomorrows forecast we are still planning to head to camp late afternoon with no freezing rain then. That night and Saturday does look like freezing rain or wintry mix. Good news is dearest thinks she get away from work early.

Got to camp more than a hour ago and got a fire going so the place is nearly warm now. Drove out in 28 degrees and a fresh new snow is on the base so everything looks white and fresh. This is the life!🥰

Got freezing rain forecasted here but none seen yet. Breeze is blowing. Plan to ski around and find some standing dead trees to cut for firewood. Can drive the 6x6 anywhere with minimal effort this time of the year. 😃

Yesterday we seen all weather over the course of the day. Drizzle, snow , dry and the sun came out for a few minutes. Did grab several loads of firewood and our friend with her dogs came out in the afternoon and had a tasty dinner. Was a grand day at camp with skiing, hikes and cutting some wood and dinng with freinds.

We just got back from a little walk and found the new snow to be quite nice. 2 inches is enough to drag and will do that as soon as we are done having breakfast.

I'm just amazed at how much snow you have there. We are in the mid 80's here this time of year. But it's supposed to be really cold in the morning. They say 47* here tomorrow morning, but low 80's by afternoon.

I guess if you like snow as much as y'all do, you are in the right place.
