Cab or No Cab?

/ Cab or No Cab? #61
I have a hand made soft cab for my L 48. I un-snap the rear window curtain, spin the seat and can run the backhoe. I have run the hoe with curtain snapped in place also. but only for a few minute job.

??? This I don't see. I've spent thousands of hours on open station tractors and over a thousand in a cab and for what I do a cab is MUCH healthier.
The key word is 'some' cases. Where merely uncomfortable cold or heat or rain is the issue the body is better off for the stress of dealing with it with only appropriate clothing. Where situations are predominately extreme this would not be the case and special clothing costing a few hundred $ would have to be used. I imagine your winters are quite extreme.

Well, winters here are more extreme than down where you are. If a fellow's cold though, it just means he's underdressed. :) There's always somewhere colder, and someone there who's dressed nice and toasty. Rain is the only thing that really bugs me when working outside, because even if I've got a good rainsuit, boots, gloves, etc, some always works in or I sweat and get wet from the inside. Hard to put in a 14hr day when you're drenched starting in the morning.

I was thinking more along the lines of spending long days choking in mower dust, smoke, and breathing/wearing pesticides though.
