Cab Installation

I have a quick and simple question regarding any soft sided cab installed on a tractor... When the dealer (or whoever installs it) puts in the front windshield, do parts need to be welded to any area of the tractor? Is the windshield removable? Thanks for your replies

Ben, if your putting a cab on your L35 the dealer installs it. I have experience with Lauren, curtis and Simms cabs. I believe we usually use the Curtis for the L35 installation. I've never had to weld anything when installing this cab (unless someone wanted something fancy installed). The front windshield is not normally meant to be removed other than replacement. A note on the Curtis installation: Somewhere along the line Kubota changed your roof from a lip that turns in to a lip that turns out and I don't think Curtis is aware of this. The cabs they originally designed were for the inward roof lip (the cab sides actually hang on this lip) The cabs will still work with the outward turned lip but it's not as clean of an installation as I'd like to see.

Thanks for the reply... Any idea if Curtis will change their installation setup for the L35? And one more question, Is it possible to remove the windshield? (I know now its not intended to be removed but...) I would rather not have it on during the summer months.

I'm not sure if Curtis got the word or not, I geuss you could remove the glass in the summer but I'll bet It'll be a real PITA
