Don't you lose money every time you change tractors? Just seems like you would since you mention going to the dealer, even if they are a good dealer, but maybe you have found a way not to. Just curious about this.

I believe every thing costs some amount of money to use. If I use something for 2 years or one or three then I'm OK with saying it cost me $30 or $50 or maybe even $80 a month to get use out of it. It's worth a certain amount per month to use the same way I figure on a car or truck and have bought over 160 of them since 1963/62.
A fair deal/price to start with and a fair price for a trade in with a fair price for the new replacement is what works for me. I do also use "some of them" for business thus allowing me to reduce my taxable income which equals give it to the government or give it to Kubota and get some personal benefit out of the earned dollars. I've dealt with a few people and they know I also have one more secret to my "cost". No, I'm not losing a lot of money by trading, I'm paying a reasonable monthly fee for the convenience of having a Kubota or two or 4 handy for my use.:cool2: and never having tt pay a repair bill in over 11 years of ownership except for a cut tire/rim on a mowing deck out of warranty and a seal on another out of warranty F3080.. .

But, to answer the question, which is irrelevant to the OP, but NO. I don't trade in. I don't pay sales tax, as this is a farm. But I also sell out right. These machines hold their value rock solid. In fact, this last swap resulted in more than a few bucks in my pocket, as I was blessed to find a machine with 24 hours on it and I saved $4K on it being "used". Yeah, right, used. LOL

I've had a B7500, then a B7510, and now a BX2660. I am 6'-5" tall and 240#. The BX does a 100X better job than my B's, but I'll say it is related to the suspended deck. Then, a few months after I bought my BX, Kubota introduced the suspended deck on the B-Series. The only things I don't like about the BX is the smaller tires. I have both R4's and turfs. I think the new B with a suspended deck and larger tires would bridge rough terrain better, but both of my B's destroyed the lawn by cutting circles around my trees. The BX does a much finer job and the results show. As for loader work, the BC does it all the same. Same size buckets. I have never had 3 point lift height issues, including trailering up ramps.

Nice to see two other people here that don't have the "go big or go home" attitude. I always chuckle at the advice to buy a 35 h.p. tractor for 2 acres of lawn mowing. I bought a B for the ground clearance in the bush, otherwise I would have been perfectly happy with a BX.

Ive been pretty close to listing my BX2660 on Craigslist this past week as Id like more lift height to reach my loft and more loader capacity. Ive spent hours thinking if I really need a B. The BX still does the job. It'll do everything the B will, and really, in no less time. I could use the hoe on a BX-25, and have kicked myself many times that I didnt just bite the bullet when I bought my BX2660. So now Im down to versatillity. Moving to a B wont give me anything I dont have, just some loader capacity and ground clearance, so the BX-25 is looking better. Although Id feel better with my size on a B, I can swallow my pride and honestly say I dont need a bigger tractor on two acres. As long as the wheelbase of a BX will support my mile-wide smile while slinging dirt with a hoe pulling stumps. Now to get the DW to buy on. She wants a pool in this year. Imagine the seat time there.
