Backhoe will be on quite a bit. The grading scraper and landscape rake will see quite a bit of action as well. When I rented the BX25 there were several occasions I was on 3 wheels with the backhoe on. It's the reason I'm leaning towards juice.

Consider trying it with spacers before adding the beet juice, although it probably won't hurt. They go a long way towards increasing your stability, and width shouldn't be an issue with a subcompact.

I don't think you will get that kind of weight in the BX. The XJ2025 holds just over 150lbs. at 75% full (15 gal. of beet juice per tire) & the tires on the LS are 4ft. high.
I only plan on putting juice in the back. I'll be happy if I can get 120 lbs in each, and I want to put some spacers on the rear. I'll probablt take your lead and add tubes to the front.

In my massey gc1715 I was told I could get about 8.5 gallons per tire and I believe the massey and kubota tires are very very similar sized. But 8.5 gallons is less than 100 lbs. As I recall.

Understand. I've done it plenty myself. Just remember the additional abuse you are putting on the front axle and steering components. I have a rake and a rear blade as well. The loaded tires should give you more traction with those activities.

That's 185 lbs. That's like an extra person hanging off the back.

F & G,

QH is quick hitch in tractor lingo. Next time you go to the K Dealer ask to look at the BX Op manual and read page 51 and 52. Short version:
-No weight in front tires, exterior ballast only NTE 275#
-There is a rear tire table that shows weight by ambient temps based on Calcium (Kubota's recommendation). Juice is probably closer to plain water. For our area Calcium weighs 99#.
-When BH is on the say remove any Ballast to prevent damage to the transmission. The BH and liquid ballast are too much weight.

I have 500# of suitcase weights in 10 50# units that I distribute as needed. Also I us the BH as a moving ballast by keeping it low and swung to the uphill side. Works great. I have had my BX on one rear wheel several times and was able to recover. Sometimes I extend the outriggers also to just clear the ground along with the FEL close to the ground.

You indicated doing a lot of your own maintenance: what ever you buy, or better get them to throw it in the deal, the Workshop Manual (WSM). It will pay great dividends. I have paid for it many times over preventing head scratching.

Ron

Just wondered what you were doing that lifted a wheel whilst the backhoe was mounted. Was it while using the backhoe, using the FEL or when travelling over terrain with the tractor? Rear wheel or front? Sideslope? Extreme bumps or ruts? Don't mean to interrogate or criticize, but just really trying to understand. Backhoe had always seemed like a good front/rear counterweight although it generally reduces side-to-side stability by being top-heavy in the transport position.

By the way, good luck with your shopping. I've had great service from my little Kubota but suspect any of those you're considering are good, dependable machines.

Easy in my case... trying to pry out down pile of logs, stumps, and debris made by excavator on my property. Job too big for my BX but I got it done anyways. If anyone saw the acre of clearing piled put and saw it gone a year later with lawn planted they would bow down to the BX. Just sayin'...
