So I checked out the Mahindra/Kioti dealer and it was a bit of a cluster F. Super long speal about Selling Kiotis forever under the Cub Cadet and Bobcat names... Even after talking on the phone he didn't have a CS2410 that was uncrated. I did get to sit on another customers that was in for work. The operator platform was setup real nice except for the steering wheel was straight up and down. It felt like you were more of a DJ spinning records than driving a tractor.

The Mahindras were actually less impressive. Maybe I built them up too much in my mind. The loader dump speed was insanely slow. I was shocked considering that they have two pumps. The backhoe controls were rough. When I'd use the curl or crowd the whole tractor would move. I think there might have been some air in the backhoe stabilizer cylinder.

I think I'm going to go to the Kubota dealer to see what the BX25D-1 looks like compared to the old BX25 rental I had, and then wait for the LS guy.

Fairway, some of the items you mentioned I also noted in the Mahindras plus a few other things too. On a spreadsheet they look very good.

It would be nice after you see the BX25d-1 to then be able to see the GC1700s from Massey.

In our region of Wisconsin . . .a number of Kubota dealers are now also selling the Massey units with good results for both. My chosen dealer has both with all models displayed inside.

Whats a little hard for me to understand is why dealers like your Kioti dealer would not have units uncrated so prospects can see and touch them. It seems to create negatives not positives for them. They don't sell themselves sitting in the crate lol.

Massey is going to be the hardest for me to demo. It's about an hour and 15 minutes away. Longer with traffic. It just might not happen. It looks awesome though.

As a longtime Kubota bx fan . . I am ever so glad I travelled to where I could see and demo the GC1700s in a good situation. I ended up going twice the distance you mention . . .because to me a $15,000 decision was and is and will be a key decision for my future.

I've spent more than that amount many times in a phone call . . .but for me . . I'll live with my tractor decision for 1 or, 2 decades. Just think how long you spent assembling the info and creating your spreadsheet and I found numerous errors in it. My point is unwavering in its logic but calm in its emotion . . . get the product you want/need/that you can afford. I believe that should be the #1 priority. Especially if the time to see and test it (including travel time) is less than the time it took you to assemble and create your spreadsheet accurately.

Others on TBN at times think I overstate the Massey GC1700s . . .and when they see and demo-ed them, thats what they ended up investing in.

Maybe you are comfortable making a decusion with errors in your numbers. Maybe getting a product without fully reviewing your options is satisfactory to you. Maybe 1 dealer not having a unit to show you demonstrates "I tried". But I think you are worth the effort to see and drive one . . Don't you think you're worth that much ? Is it really such a big sacrifice to "know" instead of just "guess" ?

A spreadsheet indicates someone trying to be analytical and predictable . . . but that effort can't be complete if you don't see and run it. Just look how good the Mahindras looked to you on paper :)

In all ways . . I wish you success in your efforts :)

I like Massey too, and mine have been practically prefect for the 1200 hours I've collectively put on them.

But with that said, they are still machines, and machines are prone to failure at some point. If you feel uncomfortable with the extra distance to the dealer, go with something closer.

I have two Massey dealers within 35 mins, one specializes in smaller stuff, one bigger, but I can get parts from either.... which is good, because it's easy to break things on these machines (cosmetic stuff). But I put alot of commercial hours on my machines, so I'm more likely to damage it than others may be.

If I didn't have dealer representation within a reasonable distance, I would likely opt for something else, which would be my loss because these are such great machines... But I'd still do it knowing that I'll need parts or service eventually

Well stated TSO. But don't forget that he has a closer massey dealer also who didn't have one to show. That means he has multiple service and parts options. He also plans to do much of his own work too . . And whether warranty work or maintenance needs are done 25 minutes away or 75 minutes away is the same trailer isdues it would seem.

Now if he was unable to do eventhe most minimum basic maintenance . . then maybe its a little dufferent story . . but he has 2 locations and sources close as well as just a bit further. I just see the goal now is to find out uf Massey us in the running or not.

In your previous post you said 15K for a Massey? Is that for a loader/mower?

I was just a whisker more than that for a GC1715 with DL95 and a true 6 blade mulcher mmm. Also included loaded rears and a brush guard and engine block heater.

That included sales tax but not the really great insurance amd a discounted delivery charge due to distance (I paid 65 cents per mile for one way).

This is why I mentioned that the gc1720 tlb (no mower) could also likely fit in your budget but was not in your spreadsheet.

F & B, I recommend you visit Jennings Equipment in Puyallup just down 167 from you to Puyallup. Like anywhere in Puget Sound; don't go either to Puyallup or Everett during rush hour. Look up my given name in the TBN directory and use it in talking to Andy in sales. Talk to their parts guys and the shop manager and check out those two elements also. I deal with all three from time to time. I also recommend you go to Kitsap Tractors web site and have their pricing in your hip pocket for starting negotiations. Whether you use the 0 down 0 interest or cash get the KTAC insurance. I recently damaged my BX to the tune of $8K+ working in my woods (repaired at jennings) and they paid off with no hassle.

I have no financial interest in Jennings and not getting anything for referrals; just trying to spread the word to a fellow tractor buff.
