Mike, only if....there is no way those wrenches will fit. I appreciate the thought though. There is maybe 1/16" between flare nuts! It is insanely tight.

There is a very unprofessional method- but your equipment looks way too nice to use it.

You can use a hammer and dull chisel (assuming there is enough room in there to swing the hammer). Properly angled blows can be used to loosen the old nut and tighten the new one while only destroying one face of the nut.

I would remove the 90 elbow, it looks like it will come out, hard to tell though. Yes there is a o-ring under the nut on the fitting threads. Just take it with you to someplace that sell hydraulic parts and they can give you the right size replacement. I wouldnt go hitting it with anything, or you will end up having to replace that entire hose when you realize it wont seal back because its deformed from hitting it.

Can you start from the right side and work down the line to remove the lines to allow access?

OK, I have a work around and it is awsome.

The factory says start at one end and remove all hoses then re-assemble. RIGHT! Dang...I found a better way...

The following 2 tools are a MUST HAVE (IMO) if you own a BX25.

The flare nuts on the hoses at the BH Valve Block are REALLY close together. I looked at every tool known to man and in the end the most expensive Snap On tools worked. Don't waste your time looking at others, I did, just buy these tools. Trust me...

Regarding the BX25 and the leaks at the BH Hydraulic Valve Block I have been having issues with THE SNAP ON TOOLS WORK. !!! I was able to get that flare nut to tighten easily a tad and no leaks yet. Next time I use it will be the real test but initial start-up and test showed no leaks.

CROWFOOT, OFFSET 3/8 Drive, 11/16 , 12 Point (AN850115B)

And the SOCKET, FLARE NUT, 11/16 6-POINT,3/8 Drive (FRX221)

Here is a picture showing both tools on the offending flare nuts! Between these two tools I do believe A man can fix most of, if not all hoses in this area w/o taking each hose off from one end as the factory suggests.

Awesome report! I beleive I have a crowfoot already, but that socket looks handy. I wonder if my o2 sensor kit has the right size? I'm gonna check and report back here.

Using a cut out socket was a great idea. I'll have to remember that if I have a similar problem with my BH.

Nice find and nice job, but I'm surprised these nuts took SAE wrenches. I thought all the flare nuts on Kubota hoses were metric, or were the SAE sizes close enough?

Unwillingly, due to the close proxmity of everything in these sub compact hoes I guess I am going to work on a full compliment of flare nut tools from Snap On so I can work on this thing myself. I am Sooooo glad these worked. After warranty when hoses go I need to be able to fix myself. I am on the right path me-thinks.

The verdic is still out, I am leaning big time towards SAE but other stuff is metric I "think".

I "think" the BH and the FEL are made in America, and teh tractor overseas, so I "think" SAE for USA Made and Metric for Overseas made...time will tell.

I just checked the loader on my BX23 and all the flare nuts that were easy to get at are SAE. The square 90 degree fittings that come off the cylinders are a tight 16MM.

All very good info...

Anyone have a connect on cheap Snap On tool buys?

In looking up the 11/16 snap on flare nut socket I see that the price is $46.75.
I know that it can be worth it but that is a lot of money to spend for a tool that I would rarely use. Has anyone tried to grind and 11/16 socket to a shape that would work?

Those 2 tools are going to run you aout 90 bux w/ shipping and tax. It is a pitence comparded to what your going to spend if you have to pay the stealer to remove all hoses to reach that leaker on the end. THEN, praying unscrewing a bunch of good joints all go back together w/o a problem.

I looked at trying to modify a socket but the steel will still be cheap steal. These Snap On tools are like Jewelry, made from strong stuff. If I had a mill maybe I would try to emiulate that cut-away socket, and in a 12 point at that, but I do not, and it would cost more than 46 bux to have a machinist do it. If your going to try to modify a socket you need a really thin walled socket to start with! That alone limits your choices greatly.

I may do it some day, w/ a 12 point. For now I am OK. Snap On does NOT make that cut-away socket in 12 point, only 6. I spent hours researching tools, I wrote down dimensions to the .xxx" and Snap On and I think it was Wright Tools had the smallest. But Wright didn't have one or the other.

If your going to sell your BX25 and bought new I would not worry about it. If your 400 miles from a dealer and depend on your tractor BUY THEM NOW, the price will only go up.The BH inheritantly trys to loosen those hoses by swinging back and forth. I do not think it is an "IF" situation, I think it is a "WHEN" situation. There is another thread on this board about the same issue. How many are not listed here? Probabaly a lot...

If there are any other speciality tools anyone has run into for the BX25 please chip in.
