BCP, thanks for posting that info (and thanks to Artisan for starting this thread). I am not trying to upgrade the alternator on my BX2350, but I am thinking about adding an analog tachometer. The pinout diagrams you see most places on the net for the matching connector appear to be for alternators in gasoline powered cars who's tachs do not rely on the alternator. They show an "S" terminal (battery sense) in that end position, but I had a feeling that it was a phase/stator signal ("P") on our little diesels to drive a tach since A) something needs to provide a tach signal and B) utility tractors don't need that level of voltage regulator accuracy that the battery sense signal allows. Hey Artisan, I'm trying to fix a BX25 fan belt problem, but have tightened the original belt to the max and it still screeches. The original one doesn't look like the picture you posted, but the replacement belt I got from the local Kubota dealer does look like yours. I want to change it but can't figure out how to get the belt around what appears to be a drive shaft between the engine and the rear end. I don't have a repair manual, just the pretty useless one that came with the tractor, but I happened on this blog and thought I'd try asking someone with more knowledge about all this. Any thoughts?? I know this is a old thread but. Have you thought of a D34M Blue Top Optima battery part number 8016-103. I actually put a car battery in my BX25 even though the post were on opposite sides. It fits (is very tight) and the factory cables fit. I think I am going to order 101211-8810 alternator which is used on Class 8 generators and many Perkins engine equipment. The extra lights I have on order will be stretching the power output of original alternator.
