I installed my new Bro-Tek wheel spacers today on my BX24. They seem to make the machine MUCH more stable as they widen the stance about 4 1/2" and are high quality and very easy to install.
Why the caution? Well if you have loaded tires and haven't taken them off before then beware they are VERY heavy, much heavier than I would have thought. DO NOT let them fall on one of your feet and especially not on one of your wifes. That is not helpful in buying more accessories. :(

Thanks for the advise.

I mean about the Wifey's foot...

Can she use the tractor to get around for awhile?

Does she really need 2 working feet?

Just thoughts.

Good Luck to you.

Would the new wheel position affect the installation or operation of a mid-mount mower? Or any other attachments?

I use the 54" MMM and there is no way it will fit with spacers. The rear guide wheels and their mounting points will hit the tires. That is really the only attachment I can forsee trouble with.

You're not posting from Eldorado, Texas by chance?? :p

It seems like wheel backspacers would REALLY increase the bending moment on the axle at the support bearings.

I just checked their web site and couldn't find the spacers. Do you have a link?

Thanks- John

Just a word of warning. If you happen to do any damage to your rear axles there is no way it will be convered under warrenty. Thats a big spacer for that size tractor, and with the weight of the backhoe its got to be mutiplying the force on the castings and seals right where the axle goes into the transmission. I'd be very, very careful.

I tend to take it easy on my equipment. I feel the extra insurance the spacers provide by widening the stance and making it more stable is worth it as the tractor gets most of its use in the winter moving snow with the FEL. I have to use chains and these give a little more room. We'll just wait and see what happens.
