Searched but didn't see a hit for this; I've noticed as of late at times the steering on my BX24 seems a little slow - as in I can turn the wheel a rotation at times before the steering reacts. I typically don't operate the tractor at full rpm unless I'm mowing with it. Anyone else experience the same thing? I keep up the maintenance schedule with all fluid changes.

The only thing that comes to my mind is on the BX 24, if you are just driving it you need to have rpms at 1200 and up. 1600 is preferred. Dont you notice the engine is lugging and slow response to steering when engine rpms is low? you really dont want to introduce captivation with the hydro pump at low rpms. Of course, I go to rated pto speed when engaging implements or 2800 rpms and up. Do you experience the same issue at ALL rpms? or just at low rpms?

Sounds like the seals on your front steering rack are shot.
