Coyote X said:Went and did the paperwork on the BX24 today. While I was there I asked if they had a 48 inch deck they would let me try out under the tractor and see how it fit. They didn't have anything not already attached and they didn't want to sell me one even if they did so I quit asking them about it and just took the tractor.
It will be delivered in the morning and I will call around some of the other dealers and see what I can figure out this summer. I am not in a real hurry to fit it since the sears lawn tractor I have runs fine and will have no trouble running for the next few years now that I will not need it for anything except cutting grass anymore. Does anyone know a part number for the 48" deck so I know what to ask about when calling around? The Kubota website sucks for any specific details.
LBrown59: I would be interested if it would fit but I have no idea how far away you are from me but being northwest it will probably cost more to get it here than just to buy a new one.
I see that in your next post that you have the correct part number. It's really a shame that the dealer didn't have the patience to support you on this. The cost of the deck new will be somewhere around $1300 +/-. There are differences between the BX1500 and BX1850 versions of the 48" deck. The 1500 version used different front links (shorter) and the I think the rear attachment points are different. With that said it is probably still possible to modify a BX1500 version to work but will take a little more work. When I put the BX1500 48" deck on my BX2230 the cut height was 1" lower than on the dial gage. While the newer BX1850 mounted on a BX24, 2350, or 2660 will be 1" higher than dial gage, so mounting points measure different between the decks.
While anyway in the short term you can still cut grass with your old tractor. Congratulations on the new BX24 TLB.
In the future when you get into the deck installation feel free to PM me for more information. I still have access to my old tractor and could better look at the differences between decks for you.
