fuel system

Yyou should install a Racor centrifuge fuel filter with
an automatic themostat after you get it home-

the Racor eleven hundred centrifuge model will spin the dirt and water out
of the fuel system with only the fuel pump of the tractor pulling the fuel.

The manual drain allows you to drain the dirt and water every day as you can see how much water and dirt you get out of the fuel.

And with the minus five micron filter you would have a filter that wil last for years before replacement and you may never have to change the fue filters in the tractor.

AND all there is to changing the filter is unscrewing the filter lid, remove the filter lid O-ring from the stem, and replace with the new one in the box.

(drain fuel back into chamber before removing it completely).

The internal check valves prevent air from getting into the fuel lines after the filter and centrifuge bowl.

I started a thread very similar to your situation at the beginning of the mowing season. My father in law was torn between the X748 Deere and a BX2660. In the end he purchased the BX with a standard cut 60" deck and bagger system. He cuts the grass to putting green height every week and the yard looks phenomenal. He is very happy he bought the BX over the Deere X and his use is 100% mowing as he did not get the loader valve.

I have the BX1860 that I use to maintain my 1.5 acre lawn. My property tends to be wet as there is swamp behind me and the water table is high. I have not noticed any lawn marking issues with the BX and turf tires. It cuts the lawn as good or better than my previous Deere rider. Much more pleasant to mow with to without the stuipid ROI that deere and other "lawn tractors" have when you want to mow in reverse. The Kubota BX being a "real" tractor does not have it so you can mow forward and reverse with no issues.

I have a Grand L3240 for heavier work but I still purchased the BX with the loader as it will help in trade in / resale value down the road. It helps with front ballast to if you are working a heavy rear implement. I just hooked up a landscape rake to my BX for the first time this past weekend and the steering was very light with the rake raised and no front loader present.

Dislike? Yeah, sure.

The "chains" are a PITA. Truly.
The engine is designed to really wind up. I know they designed it to run at 3000 rpm and more, but really......

Super easy starter. Even at 0 degrees. Flash the glows for two or three series of 6 count and bang, you're off. Hammers like a son of a gun.

HST whines like spoiled brat who didn't get a nap.

Keep the radiator screen clean. Reverse flow might be nice for ergonomics but it will suck a lot of dust and such. SOP

Dang comfortable seat. Can mow for an hour or two, even with my horrid back. No discomfort.

Sips fuel like a lady nursing a drink at a nightclub.

Hate the tach. Really almost useless. grey digital thingie. How about a freaking analog dial, Kubota?

OK, that's enough. Love it? Absolutely!!! Blinded so as not to see its faults? nope. Buy and recommend Orange again? In a heartbeat.

UGH! So it's a loud tractor AND a whiney HST?

I'm >40 so I'm starting to actually DISlike loud things. (I used to think loud was cool)

Great to hear it has a comfy seat......I hate uncomfortable when you're doing something you like...

Uh oh. Now I'm worried....it's a noisy bugger. :(

I'm going to dealer tomorrow/tues to have a little test run, so I guess I'll see just how loud they are.

Can't be worse than my 4800 under hard acceleration with the windows down...
