Guys, I appreciate the replies, but you are missing some of my replies it seems.

It does have a mower deck, as well as the shoot attachment for it.

On the 8100 price you mention, I am sure that doesn't include the blade, valve, grass catcher or the deck.

More on the price...

BX24 with options MSRP
Base MSRP including selected tires $16,633.00
Mid Mount Mower $1,990.00
Front Blade $1,392.00
Quick Hitch $586.00
Grass Catcher $2,100.00
Total Configured Price of Model* $22,701.00

BX2350 with similar options less backhoe MSRP
Base MSRP including selected tires $9,817.00
Ballast Box $211.00
Loader $2,376.00
Mid Mount Mower $1,990.00
Front Blade $1,392.00
Four Position Control Valve $636.00
Quick Hitch $586.00
Grass Catcher $2,070.00
Total Configured Price of Model* $19,078.00

*Shrug* To me, it's a good deal, especially considering I do not foresee myself needing a backhoe to justify looking for tractor with it or paying more for it. Perhaps I am wrong. Perhaps if I ever needed one, it would be cheaper to rent it at $200/day from my local rental place. Bottom line is, I agreed to purchase this unit as it sits, although I have not paid for it, I will be proceeding with the purchase, unless what I see when I see it is not what was adverised.

bimmer. Ok , we are only trying to help and hate to see kubota owners getting taken esp. with a BX. I am sure you will love your BX23 and its a great machine. I see you have the MMM and it a great mower as well. Now, since you have the original owner name, if I were you I'd place a phone call to that person and see if they need to make a deal with selling the FEL to you directly or see where it went? Most of us here at TBN love the FEL and we seem to find more uses for it that we would've thought. You can't go wrong with getting a FEL for it. If worse comes to worse, hopefully you can order one for it. By the way welcome to TBN and congrats on the purchase, its a great machine and hopefully you can find the rest of the stuff that goes with it. ;):D

And I fully appreciate it!

I am a bit hesitant on trying to contact the PO as who knows how he or she lost his ride. Could be in for some old grudge, who knows. We'll see....

I will be getting a loader as that's to me the most important part of the BX. My local dealer game me a price on Woods FEL which will use the existing Kubota valve. They also said that LA211 while available, won't fit. Kubota told me it will and will fit on top of the existing LA210 subframe. I think prices are pretty similar in any case. And the dealer will not necessarily guarantee fitment of LA211 but will still make me purchase it obviously. I know I can order LA211 parts through their parts department and I may still price it out to see what the difference is.

Thanks again for the welcome and words of advice. I've been on here for a few days looking at pictures, reading posts. Great site!!!

BimmerRacer - Just wanted to add something new to this thread that I noticed on the picture in your second post. Ask the dealer if he can swap out the seat on that tractor for the newer style seat. You will be amazed at the difference in comfort between the two seats. There was a seat replacement program a while back that the dealer may still honor. If not, maybe he will give you a reduced price on a new one. Next time you are at the dealer, sit in that seat and compare it to a new seat on any of the new BX's or B's.

I can certainly ask! Thanks for the tip. It does look a heck of a lot more comfortable!

Well, if the price is right, I'd do it.

You may find later that you want a hoe, in which case, your tractor will already have the subframe.

Just to make it interesting though, on the Kubota Buying/Pricing forum, there happens to be a hoe for 1800. Were it me, I would be seriously considering that, especially since OEM BX23 hoes rarely, if ever, show up for sale by themselves...

...except for the one that came with your tractor originally... ;)

You'll love your machine. You'll LOVE it with an FEL.

You'll also love that front blade. I just got around to adding one to my BX23 this winter, and it was the hot setup for snow removal. Definitely a keeper. There was a shortage of them this winter, what with the larger amounts of snow that people seemed to get this year.

Good luck.

hummmmm, very interesting :D
fyi, to add an aftermarket BH to your tractor would run approx $5K-$7K.. I know you said you weren't interested in a BH but, and I know we've been beating this to death (sorry), but your BX23 is setup for and supposed to have an FEL & BH.

fyi II, My BX23 is used mainly for finish mowing now and it is a great & nimble finish mower. I hardly ever have the FEL & BH mounted the majority of the time as they can detract from it's nimbleness. The "OEM" FEL & BH are so easy to R&R that when they are needed you're only talking about mere minutes to toolessly mount/dismount either or both.
The BX23 is one of the few SCUT's that can have the FEL, BH & MMM mounted and worked at the same time.

Woods FEL's & BH's are good implements and are rated the same or slightly more than the OEM's. One Kubota dealer I dealt w/back in the day offered to convert a BX2230 to a TLB w/Wood's implements that would have priced in slightly lower than the BX23 and they would have warranteed it just like the OEM setup. They sell alot of Woods eqt they said so Woods is a fine unit to go with should you proceed that way.
That said, I'd still recommend to pursue the OEM implements, sespecially if they were readily available. It's all about value and worth.......

Anyways, as a finish mower you're going to be very happy with the BX23, even with the slightly higher seat (higher than the std BX's) because they are built w/additional framing to allow for spinning it 180 degrees to work the BH...... :D
