Wondering if the seat on my machine should be flat when I am not sitting in it , or are the front seat springs supposed to keep it at an angle and pop it up towhere the back springs aren't touching until I sit in it? Obviously not a huge thing, but the front springs seemed a little messed up in that they were sliding off the underside of the seat frame when I sat on it. Again ,not a big deal, but when I needed to lift the seat up the spring would get caught under the seat frame and make a **** of a racket when it popped out when I lifted the seat. So i adjusted the front seat springs to stay put under the seat frame, but now the seat remains elevated when I am not in it, and if I get off it it can bounce such that it can trip the cut off switch and try to kill the engine. What is the normal position when not in use? Thanks

that is not normal. Something is out of place with the springs. My BX2200 rear springs keep the seat tilted forward until I get on it.
Could something have fallen off or come loose?

The springs on the back of my seat are longer than the front.

I would think there would be a cap on the end of the spring to push on the switch. My BX2200 does not have a switch setup like that one

What purpose do the springs serve? I see in closer look at the pic there is a plate to press the switch.
The seat is hinged at the front like mine so not sure what the springs are doing.

I compared my setup to the manual I have for the tractor and the spring layout is correct. I assume the front spring push the seat off the switch when you get off it? They are very prone to sliding off to the side of the seat and getting hung up on the seat frame edge. Then when you open the seat they go BWAAANG!! :) I have them set pretty well now, but still wonder about what is correct here.

You can see the scratches where they have slid out the side of the seat frame on the right side, or onto the sheet metal on the left side.

Yes. Maybe someone on here has the same setup and can see a difference. Doesn't look like a good setup to clear the switch when you get off.
