BX2200
From what I've seen in my short time here at TBN, there are a number of folks out there who are ready to purchase a BX2200, but need to be absolutely sure that when they "dive in" there aren't any "rocks."

Lets hear from you - what was your best quote and from where? What quotes did you get on the implements?

Was there a dealer out there that you wouldn't use? Someone that you would reccommend? Any particular salesman that you had a good experience with and would reccommend?

How about service and delivery? How much? Too high? Great Deal?

Any regrets? Any other experience in your purchase that you think will helpthe rest of us make the best decision?

Once again - thanks for your help!

I'd make somebody a good deal on mine, it hasn't been satisfactory. I'm tired of accidentally knocking over large fir trees because it's too unwieldy to turn around, and it is costly to be constantly repairing my foundation when I've been landscaping and I accidentally punch out a section of the footing wall with that loader. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif.

OK, serious. As many on this board have stated, although with most Kubota's you'll probably not see the inside of a dealer service department for many years (if ever), after sale service can be very important. Talk to as many people in your area as you can. And a dealer that will cut you some slack on implements new or used, can save you a lot of money. Some dealers will make a great package deal on extras if you are buying the basic tractor from them.

Del… With the BX one doesn't hit the house, they simply move the house /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif.

JudeK… As far as price and a dealer, can't comment there. Noticed from your post on "B7500 vs …" that you are aware of the NE high-cost-of-doing business surcharge. So the internet or a little travel may be in order, if price is the only consideration. (For myself, I like having the local dealer relationship, but they gave me a competitive quote). It's a personal decision.

As far as implements, with the 3 point ones, you can buy basically anywhere, so aggressively shop around and have some prices beforehand, and yes, also ask the dealer.

Only regrets, that I thought of later, and having noticed some recent buyers successfully picked up on, is having the dealer throw in a minor item or two. For example, Work lights, first 50 hours maintenance (would not be an option though if dealer is non-local), a case of oil, a couple of filters, a container of Super-UDT, etc. The small things. They don't seem like much, but every little bit helps, and these are items that you will eventually need. Good luck.

In NW Oh, I paid 12,100 for the BX2200 with FEL, 60" mower and Box blade. The price was good, which was important, but he has always been a no-nonsense guy to deal with and hasn't steered me wrong yet. It doesn't help much with your location, but there it is for comparison.

I don't have any regrets with the deal or the tractor, and that was after a couple of months lurking on this board and learning. Ask questions, everyone here has been a huge help to me. The tractor is amazingly strong, much more than I expected from a small tractor. As I get more confidence in it, I'm finding heavier jobs for it to do, and it hasn't let me down yet. I'm picking up my tiller Friday! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Charliebrn - I am in the Sandusky area and looking at BX's and the best I could come up with was 10,500 with just the 60" belly mower - can you tell me where in NW Ohio you got that deal??

Picked it up at Industrial Equipment of NW Ohio The place is in Williston, Oh which isn't too bad of a drive from Sandusky...going to guess about 45 mins to an hour. Phone is (419)836-2561. It was last years model however it was new. I highly recommend the dealer, his service after the sale has been impeccable. Another place around here with good prices is Crosby Equipment at 419-865-8820 in Toledo. Check his prices too. They move more 'Botas than John at IE, so they could have better prices. I was in there last week for grins and I'll bet they had no less than 50 of em sitting there.

If you'd like to look at one outside of a store, let me know..you are welcome to come by and give mine the once over...

The qQuotes I've received range from 12,200 to 13,500 for the BXx2200, FEL, 60" mower and the box blade. I thought I might be able find one for under $12,000, but it doesn't look like it.

NW Ohio is a little too far out there, but if thats definitely the lowest price I've seen. Did that price include tax?

Nope, didn't include Tax, about $700 and some odd change. I don't think it was his "normal" pricing, as I've bought a lot of equipment from him, as well as my brother and father, so he knows the family is nuts /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

They should deliever it free and with a full tank of fuel, my dealer did. Price before tax with the FEL , grill guard and the 60 inch deck was 11,990. Do not know if that is good or bad but it was nearly a year ago and before most dealers had even gotten the things. J

TresCrows; Good going /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. I thought that I had received a good price, back then, but your package at those $ beat mine. In a way, a think the early birds may of lucked out. At the time, they didn't know what the market would bear. But then again, we took the risk, didn't know how the thing would perform. So, it was a win-win situation. We took a risk and got more than expected; they (Kubota) found out what the market demand was /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

Looks like TresCrowsgot us all beat. Where did you pick up that tractor?

As the snow melts, I've got more and more reasons to take the plunge!

(Thanks to all again! Ditto to the bostonboy post! You've all been very helpful!)

Oops, sorry guys /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif , I was looking at my first quote sheet for the price given in my first post--oops--to that amount add 200 dollars for a 60 inch mower instead of the 54 I originally thought I wanted and 60 dollars for a four way valve instead of the three way. Still a good price I think. I bought the tractor or actually made first contact at a garden show where everyhting was on "special" prices--maybe they actually where. I have found my dealer to be exceptional when it comes to honesty. J
