Howdy. I'm new here and need a little info.

Due to impending divorce and sale of property, I need to sell my relatively new BX1800. 139 hrs, loader and 54" mid deck. Also have a 4' HEAVY rear blade. Real good shape - a scratch or two, that's it.

What's a good price? I can't find anything to compare to. I'm in the Cincinnati area.

Thanks in advance!

As I have noticed and have seen others post about resale of compact tractors, the resale would be quite good. How much do you have wrapped up in it? I would imagine 10-20% off of that price would be a reasonable price to ask for.

I can't help you with the value, but I'd suggest you avoid setting something in stone until the unit is sold--there are too many variables. If it's over valued compared to what you actually get for it, it will hurt you in the settlement.

Maybe you could jump on e-Bay to get a feel for what is being asked for similar machines.

Otherwise reducing what you put into it by 10% - 20% is a good idea.

Get a price on a similar model.... the BX1830 and deduct 20% from that price as your starting point. With the 0% financing, it is going to be hard to compete with a new machine in price. It has to be enough of a savings to get someone with all the money up front to purchase it. The people that don't have to finance a machine are also the people that don't mind spending a little extra for a new machine. I on the other hand am conservative in spending and like to find a bargain in a used item. It has to be enough of a savings over new to make it worthwhile for me, hence the 20% minimum deduction from the cost of new. There is also the model change and balance of warranty issues that needs to be considered. Put yourself in a buyers shoes and look at it from that prospective. You shopped for the best price and so will a used buyer want the best price. It is a bitter pill to swallow, but in this present environment, it is hard to compete with the dealers selling new.
