So the annoying snowfalls that are too small for the plow or the snowblower but still need attention have gotten me thinking about a front sweeper again...and making me wish I had taken advantage of one of the few (rare) opportunities I have seen over the years for one.

Any thoughts or experiences with the sweeper in thin snowfall amounts topped with a layer of ice? Any used ones out there?

Thanks,

Joe

Joe, the ice is a killer here! For light snow falls brooms work very well!

I have used my sweeper a few times to clear snow - usually when we get an early snow fall and I still have the sweeper mounted on the tractor. It works fine as long as the snow isn't more than a few inches deep. Otherwise I use the snowlower for everything from a light dusting to a major snowfall.

When I was looking for a used Bx, I found a couple used sweepers online for sale. PM/email me if you want more information. I am in no way affiliated with the owners, just happened across their ads while looking.

Edit: They were for sale in the Harrisburg PA area.

How much area are you looking to clear? If it's small enough, a gas leaf blower may be the ticket.
