I have a BX 2230 with turf tires and am spinning alot on my gravel drive with the wet snow using the front bucket. Anyone have a source for tire chains? Thanks

May want to consider some type of rear weight even w/tire chains.

I've got the same tractor and tires. I have my rear tires full of washer fluid and I hang either a 275lb weight bar or 200 lb 5 foot rear blade on the back end. On my paved driveway, I have pushed snow hard enough to lift the front end off the ground and then had the rear tires squawk. Chains may help, but get weighted down first.

Try the local walmart or auto parts store . A set for a car could work .

You know what else would help? If I had put the **** thing in 4WD!! I was in such a hurry today to get the wife going I spaced on it. That's embarrassing....

you might check on e-bay also. think jd 1025r(not sure model #) uses same tire size as bx-series. I got mine for under $25/set front&back off season on e-bay even got a second set for rears but have not needed double chain in 4 wheel drive

In this part of the world there is a tire dealer - Les Schwab - that can order chains for a tractor. I got heavy duty tractor chains when I had my Ford 1700. I got a funny feeling when it took two BIG guys to carry the box of chains(for all four wheels) out and load them into the pickup. The rear V-bar chains were right at my limit of lifting ability. I would not even consider the purchase price or seasonal installation of a set like that for my new tractor.

got mine from there a few years ago and they help a lot. I did the 2 link chains and i also ordered some 'tighteners' to keep the flapping to a minimum
be prepared to have to remove some links etc to get them fitted correctly, so allow several hours the first time you put them on.
I found that if i jack up the tractor and using a bungee cord on the one end of the chain, spin the tire and it will pull the chain up onto the tire.. Then I hooked them at the loosest point.. spin the tire and grap another link.. spin the tire, and keep tightening until they were as tight as i could get them.. then I zipped tied the loose ends and put on the stretches..

Mine fit great, I also got the tensioner so and recommend that, a bungy works too. You may want to check clearances. I had to get spacers on a b to fit chains.
