BX Seat Recall

Can someone who has had the recall performed explain exactly what it is they do. I heard it was something about a locknut. Under my seat there is a single stud in the middle with 2 nuts on it already. Is this the recall?

its not a recall, its a campain. There is a small bracket thats added to that the seat can not come off if its put under a heavy side load.

Explain the difference between campaign and recall please. The letter I received implied a safety concern and to take it back to the dealer...than my dealer said he would drive the 120 miles to my house to fix it.

Since you have a BX 24, simply have the dealer mail it to you. The holes will already be in the bracket and it takes longer to read the instructions than it does to install the "fix". I still can't understand the reason for it, let alone the way it is supposed to work. There seems to be a different fix for the 2350.

I posted a facsimile of this somewhere else - according to my dealer a 400#ish fellow was on his poor little BX - riding across a slope... his buttocks mass and tractor velocity were apparently at odds... resulting in the seat "ripping" off the latch... thusly sending the portly gent off the tractor and down the hill, Humpty Dumpty style.
Apparently he yelled at Kubota.
Kubota responded with a small metal bracket attached to the underside of the seat - interestingly, the hole that the bolt holding the part on filled - was already there.
