BX normal Operating Temp?

/ BX normal Operating Temp? #21
RET,

In case your still working on this, one more thing I noticed with my BX2200! This weekend I helped a friend move a load of fill dirt from the front of his driveway to the back of his property - approx. 200 yards - because the ground was too soft for the dump truck to drive back. Because of the distance to travel, I ran the tractor at about 3/4 throttle for around 3 hours while only using the loader. My temp gauge stayed at the 11:30ish position the entire time. When I was finished, I went home to cut my yard. While mowing, the gauge moved up and stayed at approx. the 1:00 position. Same day, same 94 degree heat, just different tasks and loads on the engine caused the change in the gauge - at least thats what I believe.

Scott,
No, I haven't done any further troubleshooting. But, my observations still agree with yours....11:30 position during general work and ~ 1:00 when mowing.
Even after mowing for ~2hrs at temp. position of 1:00, I can still grab and hold onto the radiator hose for several seconds and it only has a small amount of pressure on it (I can still squish the hose fairly easily)...so my touchy-feely temperature measurement system tells me it is not all that hot.
Thx!
