Do you mean left hand thread./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. The bolts on my 72" mower have a hex head for a socket and Socket for an Allen wrench. It is also about 1 ¼". The thread is about ½". I'm sure that it will cost more that $5.00. Which reminds me that I had better get a couple incase I lose or break one./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif Then will I remember where I put them?/w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

How in the "H E double hockey sticks", could you possible twist off a 1 3/16 bolt.
Give the dealer a break on the no stock matter. How many other such bolts do you think get twisted off is a year.
I also suspect the mechanical staff working there have more common sense than to be regularly twisting off such massive hardware. When such resistance is experienced, its time to step back and use the muscle between the ears and not more muscle in the arm.
But you're right on the handling and shipping nonsense. Such additional cost at all is not acceptible. It should be $0.00.
Chalk the cost of the bolt up to a mechanical education.

Ronjhall, left hand thread is what they are commonly called--yes to answer your question--that is what I meant. Thanx for clarifying that for me /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. J

Ron,

Mine is the same as yours. I purchased the 'washers' that keep pressure on the blade and they were 8 or 10 dollars each (wanted to have spares). I'm sure the bolts for mine would be more than 10 or 15 dollars each as it's quite a beefy bolt.

Mine is not left hand thread.

Spending over 11K on a tractor I'm not gunna cut corners on something safety related. I try to keep common spares (belts & blades) on hand. It's cheap insurance. Maybe I overlooked the bolts. . . . .

Amen to that! Still, I wouldn't blindly accept a price the local dealer gives me. The internet makes it easy to shop around.
