BX 60\" deck belt, when to replace?

On my third season of mowing, I mow alot, how much is a lot, not sure but seems like a lot to me /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Anyway I bought a spare belt just in case, my original belt looks decent, wore but decent. No cords showing or anything. Is there any benefit to changing it before it looks ratty, or is the best practice ride it out till it really "looks" like it needs to be replaced?

Unless you have nothing else to do...... change it when it breaks!

I have a 60" Woods finish mower that looked like it needed a new belt almost five years ago, the two spares are still hanging on the wall of the barn waiting to go on. I may change it when I put the new blades on this year. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Is it normal to have a bit of wobble in the belt when it is running? Mine does not hit anything under there, but there is a bit of wobble/wiggle that looks funny, otherwise it is running fine - wondered if anyone else has this?

Make sure there isn't any rocks slag gravel sticks etc. on top of the deck before engaging the blades.
These things can cut puncher tear or break the belt.
They can also damage the pulleys and the deck housing.
