BX 24

How much play is there supposed to be in front axle on a BX 24 Was doing some log lifting with forks on front bucket. No leaks or anything like that. Loaded on trailer and had some weight off front end when I grabed front axle, whole axle seemed to have a lot of play. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

On my BX there is a pivot adjustment in the center of the axle to control the play. I am supposed to check and adjust every 200 hrs or so.

You may have the same adjustment.

Mine would rock back and forth about a 1/4". Not up and down, forward and backward! I tightened that pivot bolt to the 15 ft lbs that was recommended and it took the play right out of it. (I may have gone to 20/25 ft lbs).
