I just noticed my BX was running very cool. Popped the hood and noticed the spade connector on the temp sensor had separated from the sensor body. The spade was still in the receptacle on the end of the wire. It obviously vibrated loose from the post on the sensor. I was able to snap it back on but it vibrated loose again. I then tried to peen the post on the sensor and was able to get the spade to stay on but it is still loose. Any suggestions on how to re-attach or should I just bite the bullet for a new sensor?

Can you slightly crimp the connector?

I tried to crimp the connector to the post but it doesn't stay tight. Perhaps some hardening epoxy will work. I'm reluctant to try silicone because it may insulate the connector from the sensor.

Not sure how much of a working surface there is, but can you get at it with solder?

If you are still under warranty, get it replaced. If not you may have to bite the bullet and buy a new one. Soldering is the only fix that I think will last, but you may melt the adjacent plastic trying to do it.

I second the motion for soldering. very easy to do if you done it before
