Oil & Fuel BX-24 Fuel Filter Problem

Was this just a BX24 problem? How many engine hours before it became a problem (?)

So you have no filter to protect the pump ?

Not sure how many answers you got but my fuel shutoff (shuts fuel off when ignition is off) went bad and I felt the replacement cost was way too rich for me. I used a manual choke cable from autoparts store and hoked the other end to the linkage where the solenoid used to shut it off. I turn off the ignition and pull it out like old time diesels and it works great for @ $8
