I didn't see much resemblance between the old FORD tractors and the present NEW HOLLAND series.

I thought I wanted to buy a New Holland. Looked like a problem to me in the 65 hp tractors as the almost same HP tractors ranged from made in one country and seemed pretty good to made in a third world country and had poor reliability.

Even the dealers had a hard time figuring out which options it took to get a particular capability. Simple things like does it come with adjustable links on the 3 point? What options are required to connect the loader at the mid section of the tractor and have hydraulic capability for my attachments at the back?

After spending several days trying to figure out how to equip the New Holland with a shuttle shift, loader, and extra hydraulic outlets, I discovered that a Kubota right out of the box had it all.

When I started looking for a tractor it was GREEN or BLUE first and RED last and was not sure about Kubota at all. Wound up with a M6800SD Kubota with Loader.

Kubota wouldn't paint it GREEN or BLUE and the BLUE dealers only bad thing he could think of was that the ORANGE paint would hurt your eyes. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I had a tire dealer give me full credit for the rear R4's that came on my L4310HST on an exchange basis for the radials. So, there are ways...

Seriously, I don't know for sure about the "just as American" part. I believe that more of a New Holland is assembled in the US than a Kubota. Not sure with today's world economy if what we think we know anymore is true or not? /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif My GMC truck was made in Canada for instance.

I'm pretty sure that my engine is made by Shibaura in Japan. If you visit their website, you can see their tractors coming down an assembly line and they look very much like mine. I wasn't ever going to tell anyone this, but my wife does say I talk too much so here goes...when I took off one of my filters during the 50 hour service the grey paint came off and the color under it was a reddish........................................................................................................orange?
This was probably repainted for New Holland colors in Japan.

What I do know is that my tractor is the best one out there for me right now! I'm very satisfied with everything about it. In support of buying Blue, an old high school friend that I ran into at our reunion last summer, who is a "real" farmer owns a TC25 and loves it.

You are correct the engine, and I think, the drive train is made by Shibaura in Japan. I am not sure what other parts are made where. The previous New Holland compacts were entirely made by Shibaura in Japan. I believe that New Holland is owned by Fiat, if so that Boomer would be an Italian tractor, wouldn't it?.

I agree!! Us notherners and our equipment see some pretty
wild temp swings. I have seen -45F and once in a great while 100F. We have mud, snow, freezing ran, rain (recently LOTS) drought, and HUGE black flies. dwarren if you are at all intersted in New Holland I might suggest (if you haven't done already) that you take a ride to Champlian NY to Bechard's. I saved $2k plus sales tax (they deliver right to your door). If you need phone # let me know (left the business card at work). Best of luck.

Rowski, your right on target with the weather swings. Don't forget the hills/mountains. It's one thing to operation a piece of equipment on the flats, it's another to operate on one of our New England sidehills where weight,stability and a low center of gravity are very important elements to consider when choosing the right tractor. It's a family business two brothers and a father plus plus the employees in the repair dept. I'm pretty close to closing a deal with them, hopefully this week. If you want to you can mention my name Derek Saborowski or Lutz's auto (busniness expense

!!) I was there a week ago and they had 2 small boomers, 2 medium boomers and 1 large boomer (tc45), 2 1920's and 2 2120's. The 2120 is what I am intersted in. I drove kubota with hst transmission, a large boomer with HSS, and a 1720 (which is similar only smaller to the 2120). I really think you can not go wrong with either color (blue or orange). I didn't even look at green due to what seems was\is. alot of trouble with there 4000 series line and also having a hard time getting the RIGHT part for garden tractor (this may be a dealer proplem) I just do not need to deal with it I don't have enough hours in a day.
I forgot to mention my brother-in-law bought a 1720 with loader from the guy in NY saved 2-3k plus sales tax compared to the ford dealer in Burlington. Later......

Great info thanks---but where does my Kubota fall in at-----oh thats right they make their--OWN--engines they don't use the lowest bidder like most other tractor companies do.

I'll shall agree that Kubota has done there home work on there engines,for I haven't had one problem with the engine since I purchase my Kubota !!
