Buying Advice Buying a tractor

I found a LONG 2460 and an AGRI POWER 5000 for sale. Looking for some advice, pro's, con's etc.

The Long 2460 is a nice tractor. It sports a 143 cu. in 3 cylinder engine, coming in at at about 40 pto hp. I use to order them with 14.9x 28 rear tires, and 6.00x 16 fronts. The clutch is very strong , as long as it is- was used properly. It will lift up up 800 lb. implements with no problem, but steering might be tougher. It has one set of remotes on it to use a external cylinder for a transport disc or a dump trailer. With any tractor purchase, make sure engine runs good with no knocks. Put the tractor in 5th gear and make sure you can stall the engine, for checking the clutch. Have the owner hook a 3 pt implement up to see if the lift works proper. Unifarm Machinery supports dealers thoughout the country, so parts are not an issue. They have a web sight with dealer locations on it. Not all dealers sell the Long parts, so check for your area.
